Last Update

Gwen called last week and said because of a chronic ear infection Mulan will be unable to continue in the program. We were asked if we would like Mulan back and because of the amount we travel we are unable to keep her.
Gwen said she would place Mulan with a really nice family. It really upsets me because I want to keep her really bad. So this is probably the last post I will do unless anyone has any questions:(
This past year and a half has been a amazing experience with many ups and downs and I will never forget it, ever. Mulan was my best friend and I will miss her very, very much. I love her so much that I want her to have a family that will be there every day for her. So I hope and pray that she gets a wonderful and loving family. Thanks to everyone for reading and posting on my blog, as I have said before the comments are what kept me blogging.
Thanks,
Candace Hornsby

I'm sorry to hear the news about Mulan, and I am equally sorry that you are unable to take her back. That's such a difficult decision, and it sounds like you made the best (albeit hardest) choice. Congrats to the both of you for her making it this far in training.

If you ever hear from/about her new family and don't mind posting about them, I'd love to read about it :)

Hello Candace,

I know that this was a very difficult decision for you. We loved Mulan very much as she became a part of our family. I will never forget joy that she greeted me every morning as I came down the stairs. I hope that she is placed with a family that will care for her with the love you had for you.

I have seen you grow and mature with this experience. Mulan will always be a part of you. And she will make a fine pet for a loving family as the result of your care. I know that you hurt - and that in some way I feel responsible as the result of what I do. I want you to know that I feel sad as well.

I will be praying for you - and for Mulan. I love you.

Love Always,

Your Dad

I'm sad to hear about Mulan, we had great hopes for her, but remember you did your best and that's all you can do!!
That sucks that you can't take her back, but hopefully her new family will give you updates...unfortunately i have to dig updates out of my people, but I take what I can get!!!
Puppy raising is an unforgettable experiance and I hope you may get to do it again in the future.

Candace-
I'm so sorry to hear about Mulan. I've been reading some of your archives and I can tell how much you loved her and how much work you've put into her. I know that the person who got my career-change pup had been waiting years and spoil her rotten! She will be so loved, I'm sure. I'll be sure to add you and Mulan to my blog!

Take comfort in knowing you did your best and you had your family behind you all the way. Someday we will understand why God allows things to happen. Life's experiences make us a better person as we grow in character. You are in my prayers that God give you comfort and leave you with only fond memories and that he find a good home for Mulan.

Candace - It was hard to read your last post. It sounds so final. You have given a lot to give a wonderful start to a beautiful dog. None of us will ever forget her. I just hope someday you will understand and be able to forgive us. You sacrifice a lot so we can all do the job God has given us to do. I know He will bless you for that. I love you dearly Candace!

I was vert sorry to hear about Mulan. I for one know most of how you feel, as my first puppy Chappelle was just career changed for allergies. But unlike your situation we were able to take him back. I can't imagine how hard it must have been for you to not be able to take Mulan back. But just know that you made the right decision, as I'm sure she will have a wonderful life with her new family.

I'm so sorry about Mulan.
I haven't encountered anything like that because I'm on my first one and CObra's time isn't up yet.
I'm sure her family will love her tremendously and she will be happy to just be an active yet lazy couch potatoe *grin*
Take care.
